Catholic Social Teaching
We work continuously to support the Catholic Social Teaching principles.
We endeavour to support a range of charities throughout the school year, much of the work is driven by our school council who work with children throughout the school to plan which charities to support. The children make their decisions based on research and take into account the impact they can have on other children and families across the school community, and the world. Some of the ways we help others include:
- Ukraine Support
- Remembrance
- Brain Tumour Research
- CAFOD
- Key Project food bank
- Mini Vinnies
Through works of charity our school community is able to live out their faith through helping others and becoming aware of the social injustices in the world. We provide many opportunities to enhance and develop the Catholic life of the school.
For further information please contact the school.
First Holy Communion
The parish of St. Gregory’s leads children in their sacramental preparation. Pupils in Year 4 who are baptised Catholic are given the opportunity to take part in this programme. These sessions are run in partnership with School to prepare the children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
Fr Keith co-ordinates the programme and is supported by Mrs Blackwood. If you need any further information, please contact Fr Keith at St. Gregory’s church.
