In Year 1, we have been learning all about Australia. After looking at some Australian Aboriginal artwork, we experimented using stamps to make our own artwork. Today, we looked more closely at Aboriginal dot painting. We found out that it is often made using sticks or finger prints and that each piece of artwork tells a story. We made our first piece of Australian artwork yesterday using cotton buds and brightly coloured paint.
Year 5 have been joining Mrs McTavy in the garden.
At the end of last term, KS2 pupils were given a bookmark and a sample extract from Jenny Pearson’s new book ‘The Incredible Record Smashers’ which is due in shops on 29th April. Jenny has offered to sign a book plate for anyone who has a copy of the book. Do let Mrs Squares know if you would like one!
Year 6 created a beautiful prayer focus around the stations of the cross. Each year visited the prayer stations and hung their own prayers on the tree.
